Physical Education
At The Archbishop Lanfranc Academy, we recognise the importance of PE and the role it has to play in promoting lifelong participation and making a positive impact on physical, mental and social health.
Our curriculum is built on a three, five and seven year journey which prepares and guides students with the skills to succeed in sport. The intent of our curriculum is to provide all students with the opportunity to engage in a broad range of high quality PE and sporting activities. Our curriculum achieves this through developing skill and competence within games, leading our students to become physically literate, ensuring participation and success within sport.
The department strive to inspire our students through fun and engaging lessons that are enjoyable, challenging and inclusive. Through differentiated tasks the PE department strives to develop all round learners who can problem solve, analyse, be creative and evaluate their own and others performance.
We ensure that lessons are focused on learning skills that are transferable across the curriculum, this provides keys to success in games/matches/fixtures which contributes to enjoyment and engagement within sport.
Students also have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills further, outside of lesson by taking part in competitive sport through our extra-curricular programme.
