Health and Social Care

Intent

The intent of our curriculum is to provide students with an awareness of those in need within the community and how they can be supported. Students will learn about the roles of many different professionals engaged in support sector work including doctors, pharmacists, nurses, midwives, occupational therapists, counsellors and social workers. Throughout the course students are themselves encouraged to volunteer within the community.

We strive to inspire our students through engaging lessons that are both enjoyable and challenging but which remain accessible to all; always focused on developing learners who can describe, analyse, reflect and evaluate their own and others work.

Whilst studying this subject students will foster the core value of nurture and demonstrate it when working with outside agencies.
