Principal's Welcome

The Archbishop Lanfranc Academy is a modern, vibrant community and yet one with a long and historic tradition of educating students from the three London boroughs on whose crossroads we sit - Croydon, Merton and Sutton. The Academy is proud of its history, and through its various incarnations, has educated children from its local community since 1931.

The Academy is in The Bec Trust, a single academy trust, and we moved in to our brand new building in September 2018. The Academy has 850 students in Years 7 - 11 and a Nursery for 30 pre-school children. Our new building has given us capacity to grow and meet the local community's increasing demand for places.

We pride ourselves on being a truly diverse and welcoming Academy with a genuinely international perspective, whilst also being at the heart of our local community; with excellent transport links, via tram or bus, students are able to travel easily to our gates.

No one who steps across our threshold fails to be impressed by the dedication and commitment of our entire community to realising our vision "to be an outstanding learning community where together we learn to live and work together".

I hope that you will find the information on this website helpful and informative, paper copies of any of the information and documents are available if requested. I urge you to come and visit us in person to gain first hand and experience of what it means to be part of Team TALA.
